Terms of Service
Last updated: March 8, 2026
By accessing or using Resume Refactor ("the Service"), operated at resumerefactor.org, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
Resume Refactor is an AI-powered tool that reformats and rewrites resume content provided by users. The Service uses third-party AI models to generate output based on user-supplied text.
2. No Guarantees
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or free of errors
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- The output will be suitable for any particular purpose, including securing employment
You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all generated content before using it in any application, submission, or professional context.
3. User Responsibilities
- You must only upload content you have the right to use
- You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide
- You must not use the Service for fraudulent, misleading, or unlawful purposes
- You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or abuse the Service
4. Payments and Refunds
Credits are purchased through Stripe and are non-refundable once used. Unused credits do not expire but are non-transferable. All purchases are final. If you experience a technical issue that consumes credits without delivering output, contact us and we will evaluate the situation on a case-by-case basis.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resume Refactor and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of employment opportunities, revenue, data, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Resume Refactor and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the content you upload. You own the AI-generated output produced from your content. We claim no ownership over your input or output. However, we reserve the right to use anonymized, aggregated usage data to improve the Service.
8. Privacy and Data
We do not store your uploaded resumes or generated output on our servers beyond the duration of the request. We collect your email address solely for authentication and to associate credit balances with your account. We do not collect personal information beyond what is necessary to authenticate you and process payments through Stripe.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party AI providers and payment processors. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice. Upon termination, unused credits may be forfeited.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which the operator resides.
